I just realized Orga and Zigra are (likely unintentionally) the clearest counterpart kaiju between the Godzilla and Gamera series

Fanfiction idea

I’m kinda toying with an idea of Orga versus Zilla and Heat on a round the world conflict, culminating with Orga and Zilla having to work together against the Gryphon from the orginal idea for the Tristar Godzilla.

(though the Gryphon might benefit from a more alien tokusatsu aesthic redesign while keeping its inhuman build. Its kinda underwhelming as a horrific harbringer. Think honestly only the face needs to be changed. Could be interesting having a beak that’s modifed from a mamallian skull, like the Montauk Monster’s decayed racoon face ). A few additional monsters to fight alongside the gryphon might be nice as well, also based on heraldry around the globe.

Might do a first draft sometime next year after doing some research on locations/marathoning the cartoon to get a feel for the character.

I feel the analysis of the shoulder cannon lacking since it doesn’t give the feats of the UFOs cannon when comparing them, but eh.

Note how in the Japanese version, Orga’s transformation was unintentional, thus the sound effects are sometimes meant to be pitiful.
