On Punch/Counterpunch

I always figured the “Punch” personality would be the one to defect to the decepticons while Counterpunch stayed loyal to the Autobots (out of hatred for his decepticon coworkers and being the best way to ensure them harm)

Or Punch develops a “true” (as in delusion-based) alternate personality born from his fears in contrast to  the intentionally programmed Counterpunch.

I mean, Counterpunch hates everyone sure, but that also describes quite a few autobots. And he likely hates the dcepticons more, just like those autobots.

Making Counterpunch a generic “evil side” just seems kinda weird and wasteful.

If I did a Transformers series

I’d have an episode/comic where Mirage setting up a performance of what

“A tale of two siblings, one designed by the their progenitor and granted life, the other a more common frame but sparked from an ember of their creator.”

I like the idea of Mirage having character development from trying to preserve pre-war Cybertronian culture, and his determination driving him to do so even for what he would previously dismiss as “lower class.”

Problem is, no one can agree on what version, and there have been many, mostly due to changing political sens (which sibling was the “good one” and which was the “evil one” changed alot.)

Eventually , somone would help him create his own version, written in mind for for accessibility to their human allies, who are the intended audience after all.
