I noticed early on in the series that Kotaro never bullied Yugiri and I often wondered why that was. That mysterious bartender really got me interested in what’s going on with her. Sure, I would have loved an episode just about Yugiri, but the more I think about it, the more I like her past being a mystery that’s only hinted at.

1984. It has been thirty years since the world suffered the debilitating and horrific rampage of the prehistoric menace, Godzilla. Japan has moved on, rebuilding and prospering. But when a fishing vessel disappears off the active volcano of Daikoku Island, it sparks a search which uncovers a terrible omen for the Pacific nation: Godzilla has been resurrected, and he is coming home. As the monster’s very existence threatens to inflame fragile Cold War relations between the superpowers of the United States and the Soviet Union, the crisis is felt by a disparate set of characters, each with their own unique viewpoint. For Prime Minister Mitamura (Keiju Kobayashi), the situation is one crisis after another, straining his calm countenance to the breaking point. For Goro Maki (Ken Tanaka), what was originally the scoop of a century has become a fight for survival. For Dr. Hayashida (Yôsuke Natsuki), it represents the chance to both study the ultimate expression of nature, and to save the lives of both humanity and the creature. And for Steve Martin (Raymond Burr), one of the few survivors of his original attack, it means the rebirth of a nightmare he has harbored for decades.
This is a hybrid cut of both the original Japanese version The Return of Godzilla and Godzilla 1985, meant to combine the best aspects of both. The film will still be highly critical of both the United States and the Soviet Union, and will work to marginalize the more humorous aspects of the added Pentagon scenes. Their inclusion will fit better with the bureaucratic behind-the-scenes narrative of the original cut, and most additional music from the American cut will be included. All Japanese dialogue will remain intact, with English subtitles. Finally, this cut will feature a brand new opening to the film, one that seeks to definitely tie the new Godzilla to the original beast in an eerie and unforgettable way. In short, Godzilla: Resurrection will aim to be my definitive version of the return of the King of the Monsters.

This might have been the most visually amazing movie I’ve ever seen and one of the overall most charming and I didn’t think I liked either CG or superheroes that much
No trailers, clips or screenshots currently on the internet come close to demonstrating what this movie actually looks like but seriously be carefuly seeing it if you have epilepsy or anything
Bugs Bunny isn’t your conventional trickster god – he doesn’t steal or lie; rather he inflicts on us a societal hubris. He traps us in the rules, conventions and expectations we’ve made. Forcing us to go through the niceties of the barbershop or DMV at the times most inconvenient to us. If we didn’t have these rules – if it was twelve thousand years ago and all we had was a snare and a knife, Bugs would be nothing more than a mortal rabbit. But now we have built so much and he has become a god.
From the bars of our cage that we have made for ourselves, this rabbit has forged his instruments of torture.
A Gripe Of Mine Regarding Online Leftist Circles: I really wish they’d fucking realize that saying that “voting/electoral politics doesn’t change anything” hasn’t done dick to inspire mass direct-action, but has done fucking plenty to increase public apathy towards trying to fix shit in electoral politics and make people feel more scared/isolated.
This goes doubly so when they don’t say shit about constructive means of direct action except “I unno, break some stuff I guess?”
Of course, to clarify, I’m not saying this to disparage direct action; lord knows we need more of it in this country, nor to say we shouldn’t criticize the way voting’s treated as a be-all end-all in lieu of other means.
But what I am saying is maaaaaaaaybe we shouldn’t push for those things in a way that mainly serves to disempower people and make them less likely to do things in a sphere that is still fucking vitally important.
