I don’t like to call Frankenstein’s creation a ‘monster’ because he seems pretty chill, so I just call him Frankenstein’s lil boi
*new yorker accent* yeah, that’s guy’s just Frankie’s kid, what’s it to ya?
“Yeah that’s Frankie’s kid, his pop dont treat ‘im right, neither do most people round here, but he ain’t a bad kid, just in a bad sitiation”
He killed a small child and still claims to understand morality.
He didn’t know death was permanent!!! He probably didnt even know people die from that!!
When the creature tells Victor his story of how he learned of human life and culture, he makes it abundantly clear that he learned morality from the De Lacy’s and the books he found in the woods. He knew what he was doing when he murdered William; as well as, when he framed Justine for the crime. While he may have been childlike prior to him meeting the De Lacys, that does not mean he was not fully aware of the concept of permanence after them. The creature’s premeditated motive was even explicitly stated by Shelly; he had travelled to Geneva to ruin Victor’s life by taking someone precious from him, to make Victor feel the anguish he deals with daily.
