Can we like petition the showrunners to gradually phase out “Rebellion” for “Alliance” or “Resistance”?

Its ok guys. Voltron retconned how the team found the blue lion to give Hunk more cred. Early installment weirdness can be forgiven.

A summary of She-Ra’s origin.

I can’t get over how smug Adora looks while telling Angela how sorry she is for being with the Horde, totally feels sincere.

I don’t know why Adora worries about a secret identity, Hordak will attack her and her friends anyway, his anger at Adora’s betrayal is probably greater than whatever anger he has for She-Ra (the secret identity thing never made sense for her and He-Man).

Also check out Bow, I like this version of Bow.

She-Ra: Legend of Etheria

Dude, UK Bow looks like a Spanish Soap-Opera Hearthrob.

i’m going to accept hordak’s terms. glimmer is all i have.

I’d be more harsh on abandoning her kingdom if it wasn’t implied like Mermista was she’s running on a skeleton crew (likely a large number of her subjects fleeing after the first Alliance failed) and been feeling crushing sense of hopelessness for a while now.

I mean, you think she’d let Glimmer be in the military if she had more viable choices?

The bad guys have child soldiers out of callousness, the good guys here have child soldiers out of desperation.

Confronted by Black Lives Matter Activist, Tennessee Governor Says He’s Considering Clemency for Cyntoia Brown

justinspoliticalcorner:

Michael Harriot at The Root:

Questioned by a Black Lives Matter activist during a recent speaking engagement, Tennessee governor Bill Haslam announced that his office is considering offering clemency to Cyntoia Brown, a sex trafficking victim currently serving a life sentence for first-degree murder.

According to Rolling Stone, Tennessee’s outgoing Governor gave a speech on Monday at the Nashville Public Library on the importance of education. During the question-and-answer part of the event, Justin Lang, described as “a higher-education professional and member of Black Lives Matter Nashville,” stepped up to the mic and asked the governor about Cyntoia Brown’s plight.

[…]

She was tried and convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to serve a prison term of 51 years to life. Since being incarcerated, Brown has gone on to graduate from high school and college while repeatedly fighting for her release.

She was granted a clemency hearing earlier this year before the six-member Tennessee Board of Parole, citing a recent Supreme Court Decision that banned life sentences for juveniles. The board eventually denied her request for clemency after a split vote. The Tennessee Supreme Court ruled that she must serve 51 years before she is eligible for parole.

If he so chooses, Haslam can use his powers of executive clemency to pardon Brown, which is a formal statement of forgiveness but does not clear her record, or he could choose to commute her sentence to a shorter term, including time served.

acheybreakybones:

my favourite character design on spop so far: Castaspella.

Look at her! Look at her headband!

Look at her clothes!

Look at her face!

The grace, poise, charm! And all the colours used just look so good next to each other – I was blown away when she first came on screen. aesthetics: 10/10 would look at again

Castapella is honestly the one character besides Imp who got a through thematic overall. And I find it completely understandable.

So 80s. The Sun and Lightning motifs seem weird with her wise ruler schtick.

If she does show up for battle in an outfit like that in the new series will laugh though.

So is nobody concerned, that in the teaser from a couple of days ago and the main trailer that King Ghidorah seems to be chasing, hunting or toying with Millie Bobby Brown’s character, Madison Russell?

image

Like in the teaser, where he seems to be interrupting Madison’s attempt to reach Monarch?

image

Or in the trailer, where his storm clouds seem to zero in on her in particular?

image

Or the scene where he attacks her in her own home?

image

OR THE SCENE WHERE SHE’S ALONE IN A ROOM AND HE LOOKS RIGHT AT HER?!

I think the worst thing is that there’s no way to explain why he’s doing it. Unless the two cross paths ultra-frequently because of some MASSIVE coincidences, it makes no sense.

If he was tracking her because she’s a threat, or because she’s been in contact with him or the other daikaiju, he has (quite literally) all the power in the world-

image

-at his disposal to kill her and he could do it in a heartbeat.

King Ghidorah is a serial planet-killer and he’s trying to murder a harmless little girl for shits and giggles, all while scaring her to death. And this bastard is enjoying every second of it.

We are in for one hell of a villain.

Well, looks like Legendary’s got Ghidorah’s character down pat. Like, there’s only four genuinely evil monsters in the Toho films; Gigan, SpaceGodzilla, Destoroyah and (of course) Ghidorah. Gigan is a vicious bully and a coward who likes kicking other monsters when they’re down, but the destruction of humans seems to be collateral damage with him; SpaceGodzilla personally wants to kill Godzilla to prove his strength and conquer earth, but doesn’t seem to give a shit about humanity; Destoroyah wants to kill everything for fun and murders Godzilla Jr and then rubs it in his dad’s face. And the thing is? Ghidorah is worse than all three of them.

Ghidorah doesn’t just want to destroy and kill; he wants his victims to suffer as he kills them, since it’s more fun for him. And it’s canon that he’d go out of his way to harm children just because he thinks it’s fun; in the Mothra trilogy, he was about to kill hundreds of children and feast on their souls. He doesn’t need to do that. He just wants to cause as much pain and suffering as he possibly can. And as he goes about horribly murdering and terrorizing entire planets, he’s cackling like a maniac.

Point is, it’d be in character for Ghidorah to go out of his way to terrorize an innocent child. Because he’s just that much of a complete and total asshole.

I think Destroyah isn’t really evil so much as stressed and hungry (we read malice into their final form but that’s just the way their face looks like. Similar to how we assume dolphins are smiling. If they understood familial ties they might not have killed Jr if they knew it would only piss Godzilla off.)

But yeah, this is wonderful
