I just realized Dr. Eggman and Bill Cipher have basically the same villainous goal: making the universe more fun, whether other people like it or not.

But then I realized Tarantulas would thematically go with Vriska and how he’s basically the one villain from my childhood saturday morning cartoons most likely to be a Lolita syle groomer and I don’t think I could handle writing that.

I’m nervous to make any changes to the face of arguably my most popular creature design, but I’m probably gonna give scuds eye stalks because it gives them a lot more room for expressiveness. I’m also tweaking their feet, which are now even fluffier so no one is allowed to complain about it.
If you’re wondering how scud hairs/setae feel, they have a texture ranging from a soft paintbrush tip (the shorter setae) to the stiffness of a bird’s flight feather (on the longer setae). The setae on the antenna and the paddling surfaces are actually slightly barbed to interlock with each other during motion. Unlike the filaments of a feather, they are multilayered and do not require frequent preening to zip them back together.
