Then stop normalizing it
Then stop romanticizing it
Then stop pretending it’s “hot”
Then stop pretending it’s “cute”

will you ever understand that fiction is NOT reality

the brain reacts to fictional situtations they same way it does with real situations

a collection of links to articles about how fiction affects reality

but yeah, fiction totally doesnt impact reailty

Jaws, and Lolita both had unintended consequences on society.

my favorite thing about Doomguy in Doom 4 is how he’s just SO ANGRY ALL THE TIME it’s almost comical

Yeah, though to be fair – after destroying Hell several times, wiping invading demons off the earth several more times, acting as a sentinel to keep hell in check on the inside, and THEN waking up from a centuries-long nap to find that the same bumblefuck scientists who unleashed hell the last 5 times have fucked it up again – he’s prolly earned the right to be a little grumpy!

you’re absolutely right- let that man be angry.

The plot twist of Cinderella is that Cinderella is actually sweet and good and hasn’t been using her deliberately-cultivated mouse infestation to acquire enough rat poison to slowly kill her step-family over the course of several years by baking it into their morning scones or some shit. Biding her time as they get weaker and weaker, and thereby even more dependent on her assistance (and easier to subject to a multitude of other substances), until the doctors are baffled by the myriad symptoms and ineffectual treatments.

Then when the corpses are burned after her step-family dies of some mysterious disease Cinderella just weeps in relief-feigning-grief and dabs their ashes on her cheeks, vindicated in her justifiable homicide. The sole surviving inheritor of her family’s estate, no longer subject to the abuses of her relatives, or in danger of losing her family’s remaining holdings.

So in conclusion I guess Cinderella is a much better person than I am and I wish her all the best with marrying up.
