Like it’s fine that Reiko wants a family and kids and the apron and side-ponytail lifestyle, whatever, but she doesn’t have to frame that as “normal” and any rebellious activity as inherently a result of some broken home. I like that the show seems to refute Reiko’s mindset (while still respecting her choice) by having Saki reject her rhetoric but be okay with her choice, and also showing that Maria, despite coming from a loving home, is still into the punk lifestyle.
Though it is interesting that despite Reiko’s ambitions, there doesn’t appear to be a dad in the picture. He might be away on business, but it also might be a subtle demonstration that the desire to have a “normal marriage” with a man won’t always go smoothly, and Reiko still ended up being a single mom.
You know that whole trope where like, the protagonists get teleported up into the aliens’ spaceship or base or whatever and the alien appears to them only it doesn’t appear as it really looks like but rather, since it doesn’t want to scare the protagonists, it takes the form of something we find familiar and pleasing and is like, “I look like your dad or whatever–is this form okay?” Like I think about that trope a lot and I think like, what if the alien couldn’t pick out a form via telepathy and only had earth media to try and decide what form would scare its human guests least and be accepted almost immediately and honestly the more I think about it the more options for what form that might be are just really fun to me.

And I want all the pokemon in it. We have the technology. We can do this.
I want larger levels with branching tracks that you can plan ahead of time or switches you can hit by throwing apples or goading pokemon residents to do something to increase the replay value of the levels. Imagine choosing to either go up into the canopy or stay on the ground in a rainforest level, seeing the same environment different ways. A canopy filled with birds and plants, the ground filled with bugs and paras.
I want social pokemon engaging in natural behavior, including mature evolutions interacting with juveniles or territorial displays.
I want to have day and night versions for those levels, with different encounters. Maybe paths that can only be unlocked at night to play through again during the day. Perhaps they change with seasons, so Sawsbuck can be seen in all their glory, or with the phases of the moon influencing the presence of clefairy or ghost pokemon.
(And I really want to see a gengar arise from a clefable shadow)
An abandoned village, because there’s no humans in the Pokemon Snap island, where suburban pokemon like meowth furfrou still make their home and a damn Mr Mime that keeps trying to photobomb your shots.
A tropical beach where shoreline Pokemon can be coaxed up into the sand. Sandygast that can be coaxed to reveal themselves with food or likely prey, exeggcute rolling around between coconuts for camouflage and a suspiciously large palm tree that awakens with the pokeflute to reveal it’s really an aloan exeggutor.
An underwater level with schools of magicarp swimming instead of always just flopping around. Gyarados swimming over the top of you. Spooky kelp forests with a shipwreck where dhelmise, tentacruel, skrelp and dragalge lurk. Colorful reefs with frillish, horsea, clamperl, shellos and others flit around. The open water where Wailords and Lapras breach the surface and you can hear them sing.
I want an eeveelution in every level. And a ditto to find.
And I want a special level that can be unlocked by unearthing Fossils, one just populated by Pokemon of the past: all the fossil pokemon you’ve unlocked, and maybe some relicanth for good measure.

A few fun facts! All of this I learned after being near death and spending a week in critical care in a hospital that didn’t offer any sort of charity assistance and I was uninsured.
(Some do, so if you think you’re f’d, check to see if they offer anything first.)
First of all: while dealing with a terrible kidney infection, a 104 fever that had been going for a week, and who knows what else, a nice lady from their finance department came to me with some paperwork to sign. Luckily I was so out of it (I had even spelled my name wrong when I first checked in because I was so out of it) that I said I couldn’t (which was true).
I later learned what she was asking me to sign was some sort of a “lien” which would have given them all the rights to come after me and re-posses any property I had later to make up for the debt.
So, whatever you do when you’re sick, if you don’t understand something do NOT sign it.
Since then I got calls for a few years from a debt collector, I never talked to them, said I wasn’t available, whatever. Eventually they stopped calling.
I owe a hospital about $700,000 for having the audacity to have a kidney infection and an autoimmune disease which were trying to kill me simultaneously.
That was probably 5 years ago. From what everyone has told me, it can’t effect my credit. Medical debt can not effect your credit. Also, now that I’m no longer being harassed by those debt collectors, I never hear from anyone.
To me in the end, I learned to simply walk away from it, and I won, as far as I can tell.
I know the OP was making a joke, but I thought I’d put out some info in case anyone out there has the unfortunate luck to get critically sick in the US without insurance, because seriously it’s really fucking expensive.

Medical debt absolutely can effect your credit in the United States.
About nine years ago a piece of shit who didn’t like my husband’s politics attempted to murder him by running into him with an Econoline van. He didn’t succeed in killing him, but he did manage to break his neck in three places. This required thousands of dollars in two surgeries over a couple of years.
I think our credit’s probably fine, but – we did very nearly lose our house, our sole asset. Had we lost our house, our credit would not be good.
That being said, never make the mistake of thinking a hospital bill is non-negotiable. They are always negotiable when you’re broke – talk to the finance department and haggle them down. And don’t let them make you sign anything you haven’t fully read.
So far from what I’ve heard Jair Bolsonaro, the nationalist president elect of Brazil has threatened to take away territory belonging to 900k indigenous people. He’s also threatened to shut down the country’s indigenous affairs department and has been quoted saying “It’s a shame that the Brazilian cavalry wasn’t as efficient as the Americans, who exterminated their Indians.” as well as “If I become president, there will not be one centimeter more of indigenous land.” If this doesn’t sound genocidal…

It’s pretty evident people don’t seem care about South America and especially its indigenous tribes. Please please please keep an open mind and spread some word around. I don’t have a big active following but a little bit can go along way if people bring awareness to it.
Write to elected officials, someone up there will care. As far as helping with donations you can donate here to Survival International. Their mission is to prevent the annihilation of indigenous tribes. if you guys know of other organizations, maybe local, that can help please add them.
Brazil’s indigenous people shouldn’t be threatened with violence and persecution while the rest of the word just sits back and watches. Not in this day and age. Please get the word out there.
