Okay so I just watch the 3rd episode of the English dub Zombie Land Saga and… there’s a lot to unpack here but I’m going to stick with this:
There’s the part where Sakura has an epiphany which leads to her trying to make an inspirational speech. But the Yugiri slaps her across the face and berates her for being negative by stealing her speech. Lily and Saki agree with her that Sakura was being super negative and I’m just like wtf?
I get that it’s supposed to be a joke, and I’ve seen this type of joke before, but this fell so flat and was played really straight so did I miss something? Did something get lost in translation? Did Sakura suffer brain trauma that caused her to say the opposite of what she meant to?
Like there’s has to be more than just a super poorly executed joke, right?
Okay so I know this post is a bit old but I actually know the answer to this.
It’s actually just a joke that got lost in translation. Due to how Japanese sentences are structured, when Sakura said “if we don’t give up”, she said the “give up” part before she was got to the “don’t” part.
Basically imagine if Sakura was like “We have to give up except not really” but Yugiri slapped her because she heard “give up” and didn’t let her get to the good part.
Remember when Malcolm Turnbull, the goddamned idiot who was briefly
Prime Minister of Australia, was told that the laws of mathematics mean
that there was no way to make a cryptography system that was weak enough
that the cops could use to spy on bad guys, but strong enough that the
bad guys couldn’t use it to spy on cops, and he said:
“Well the laws of Australia prevail in Australia, I can assure you of
that. The laws of mathematics are very commendable, but the only law
that applies in Australia is the law of Australia.”
He added: “I’m not a cryptographer, but what we are seeking to do is to
secure their assistance. They have to face up to their responsibility.
They can’t just wash their hands of it and say it’s got nothing to do
with them.”
Malcolm Turnbull lost his job, though not for saying this goddamned
idiotic thing. This goddamned idiotic thing has continued to fester in
Australian politics, until today, when the pustule ruptured and
Parliament sat down and voted to make the laws of Australia prevail over
the laws of mathematics.
Good luck with that.
Under the new rule, cops can get court orders that will require tech
companies to backdoor their encryption, serve malware, or do whatever
else it takes to decrypt subjects’ messages, even if those messages are
so well encrypted that it would take more computational cycles than can
be wrung out of all the matter in the universe to brute-force the key.
Bad guys, meanwhile, can just use free/open source software, or tools
that are made by companies located outside of Australia, or tools that
exist today without any backdoors, and never fear police interception.
Making this bill work would mean a raft of extreme measures:
seizing and altering every general purpose computer in Australia;
banning the importation of any computing device, including phones and
laptops, into Australia; blocking Github and every other software
distribution site at the national level, and more.
The claim that archosaurs were ancestrally feathered is based on a misinterpretation of a paper which showed that bird feathers were modified scales (and not an independently evolved structure like hair is). It’s not actually an idea which has ever shown up in the published literature. Since then, it’s been shown that bird scales (which are modified feathers) are very different in structure and development from crocodile scales, which indicates that crocodile scales are not modified feathers.
Lily’s trans status has actually been out there for us the entire time if we’d payed attention to the details of her color scheme. Her hair is light blue, the majority of her outfit is white, and the front star on her ribbon is pink. What are the colors of the trans pride flag?
light blue, white, and pink
based on this, i say we make a sexuality theory for another character based on their color scheme.
Tae was the first character I thought of. Her hair and casual outfit are black, the bandages she wears are white (I think Tatsumi or someone else changes them because otherwise they should not be that bright white), her socks are gray/grey, and in her idol form she tends to wear a lot of purple.
What pride flag also uses these colors?
The Asexual Pride Flag.
Therefore, my theory is that Tae is Asexual, which would actually make sense given her character. Since she’s a zombie that hasn’t awoken yet, she’s not going to have the goal of pursuing a sexual relationship.
if you want to reblog in your own theory, go right ahead
Yugiri is pan! Her workout outfit is yellow with blue and light red spots, just like the pan pride flag (red/dark pink, yellow, blue)! Sometimes, white is also added to the flag, hence her white spots as well.
Not only that, but her regular outfit and her idol motif are both the biromantic flag colors! Red and white, with gray/black stockings in her regular outfit. She’s biromantic pansexual!
They faked out the theorists with Sakura’s pajamas that were missing a stripe.
