Grinch and isolation

I feel rather than a bullying backstory, any tale of rejection for the Grinch would work better if it was like H.P Lovecraft’s The Outsider, but toned down of course.

And honestly, I have no problem with the Grinch buying groceries, but I at least expect him to have a disguise like the Phantom of the Opera
