Runaways #15, we meet a being that is forced to serve as Nico’s Staff of One, literally called The One. He is forced to serve that way all of Nico’s line since he was trapped in this form by her ancestor until last Minoru dies or one lets him go. Nico actually considers the latter…but the guy couldn’t wait for FIVE SECONDS with his evil gloating.

I feel like genies would get out wreck havoc and one day show up at your door to be put back in the bottle because it was nice and safe in there and the magic kept them from going hungry and they had a friend.

You are suggesting that she doesn’t see a dangerous, destructive entity trapped within her as a monster to be contained and power to be harnessed but as someone who, despite their dangerous nature, has all reasons to be pissed after generations and generations of being enslaved and mistreated by previous generations and try to form a more healthy working relationship with him, with possibility of befriending or even redeeming him down the line, likely resulting in an access to much greater powers than those who used old methods could gain?
